Maya Logo Tutorial

Hello,

i am pretty new to Maya, and would love to find a tutorial
or sample file on how to create something like the Maya logo:

I think Michael McKinley had something on his site... Something to do with curves and a surface.

Hello,any one please post the tutorial links for logo/icons making in maya.
Now I'm doing local web projects,that may helpful.
