painting skinwieghts during animating process

please help me.

i have a character which i am trying to animate but when i move the right and left index finger the skin wieghts deform wrong on the hands. the characters head has been connected to the body and i cnt seem to get the skin wieghts tool up to fix the problem on the hands.



i was wondering if any one else had this problem and could help me out ASAP.

Try using the component editor if you can't get the brush in the right area.

i cnt even get the character into the paint skinwieghts tool setting... user added imageand it may have something to do with the fact that i seperated the head from the body then skinwieghted the the two halves seperately, and blendshaped the head seperately, then i merged them together and now i cnt get the skin wieghts to work in the paints tool or the component editor either.

Do you have the mesh referenced?

how do i upload the file? im very new to the maya scene and i dnt know how to upload the file to this website.

could you reply with some instructions on how to upload the file please?

Click on "Post reply"

Scroll down to the button that says "Manage Attachments"

Click browse, and choose your file.

Close the window.

Write your reply, and click "Submit Reply"

Note: Whatever you post here, all members will be able to download it.
