This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Polys disapearing

Sometimes when I combine polygons useing 'Union' they disappear. Why? What can I do?

Ahh this happens all the time. Sometimes there is nothing you can do. For instance, right now, I'm trying to union two pieces, but I get bad results. I have always been told to delete the history of both objects then try again. You might also want to try increasing the number of faces on one or both of the two objects. The layout of the faces can play a part in booleans too you see.

have no idea how to delete history. As far as faces, they have the same number of faces, nd are lined right up.

Delete History: Edit > Delete By Type > History

If you hold Ctrl Shift when you select a menu item, you get a shelf shortcut.

Deleting history:

Edit> Delete by Type> History
