Best video capturing software?

Hey i want to make videos, and need your suggestion for good video capturing software like videocapx ?

After bashing my head against the wall for the past while, ctbram suggested expression encoder by microsoft which has done the trick so far.

Yeah... 300+ dollars later. I just can't really justify that for functionality that should really come with an OS.

I guess they can charge that because they've got the market somewhat cornered, I've tried some of the alts and they were awful.

Another thing that bugs me about that company is they offer a couple "lower end" alternatives, but they're totally garbage so everyone is forced to go with the "pro" version.

LOL exactly! I think there are limits on recording time, frame rate and bit depth on those, totally ewww.

If you're working on a Mac, starting with 10.6, Quicktime has a screen-recorder built in.
