Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

controls disappeared from the viewport.

hello. i've just ended the rigging of the character. and noticed, that some control objects are not shown in the viewport. they are still in the outliner. more curiously - my viewport is split into two parts, one for perspective camera, and other for render camera. and same objects are shown in the one window, but are not in the other.

In the "Show" menu for the panel is the node type for your controls checked on?

If visibility is on in both the transform and shape nodes then that's strange. Screenshots!

here's a screenshot. i marked every place where visibility can be controlled. everything is on. pivot is still shown and control works properly, just it can't be seen. left in the viewport you can see the finger controls for the other hand.

What's bugging me is that the channel box isn't saying what layer they're on. I know I've had an object get hidden because they were in a group on one layer even though I specifically place it on another but at least the channel box gave me a heads up. Are you on the master render layer?

i put the "control" group into the layer, not every single control object.

Could you strip out everything else but the controls and post the scene?

Upload the scene. You may delete whatever you don't want to share to anything that makes the file too large, like your characters' geometry but as long the controls are there. File format is .ma preferably.

Found the problem. The objects had a xyz scale value of ...*drum roll*..0.00! I unlocked them and tried a value of 1 and there they were.
