Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Spatial Contrast???

I am working with Jennifer O'Connors book Mastering Mental Ray.

She is working in Max Design in the book.

In there she mentions a setting called Spatial Contrast, but I am working within Maya's Mental Ray.

Does anyone know where to find this setting, or is it named differently?

I have Maya 2012 and 2014.

Thanks for your time.

Sounds like the equivalent to the "Anti-aliasing Contrast" in the quality tab, under sample settings.

That would be my guess as well.
