fur/hair rendering with MR ???

its relatively easy to render fur with mental ray, its just like any other renderer, only problem is, well, as far as i know, you can only do it in XSI, not maya's MR

Mental Ray for Maya is still in it's early stages. Hopefully will see something implamented for the next release after Maya 5. They have added alot in Maya 5.

Bad news Fur is not supported in Maya 5's MR. Compositing is your best bet.
