Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

rendering as tga sequence

I am rendering some camera movements for my scene, and while its rendering I noticed that it creates 2 sets of tga files, one set is called myfilename.xxx.tga and the other is cameraShape1.xxx.tga.

The cameraShape1.xxx.tga set is ok, and is the animation that I want. But, The first set viz. myfilename.xxx.tga is all the same exact screenshot. For me that wouldbe about 3130 frames of the same thing.

Why would that happen?

Perhaps you´re rendering in Layers?
Check those settings in the Render Globals.

Do you have one of the default cameras checked as "renderable"?

Or are you using your own cam?

I created my own camera and set the render globals to that camera for the rendering.

In your render globals under Image File Output, do you have the File/Animation Ext option set to either name (Single Frame) or name.ext (Single Frame) ?

Is the start frame and end fram set correctly?

I bet Rage is on the right track. It's more than likely your rendering both the camera you created and the perspective camera. Go to the attribute editor for your perspective camera and in the "output settings" section untick the checkbox for "renderable." Now try and re-render.
