This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

I would like to know how to set up an atmosphere,
I hope you know what I´m talkin´ about.
Not only a landscape, but a landscape with sky! :bgreen:

Are you asking for atmosphere or sky (or both)? For sky I'd try to use a photo as the background. I don't know much about actual atmospheric effects (eg, haze, fog, dust, etc) - in the past I've just faked it in photoshop rather than Maya.

Take a glance at my <a href="https://forums.simplymaya.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9428"><b>Porsche 959</b></a> WIP

Well, I don´t want the background to be black, you know.
And first I need the atmosphere, and then clouds and stuff.
:/

bryce you need the 4.5 unlimeted edition to have fluid affects.

don't wory about feeling like that. it takes time to get it all figered out just like anything else.

you know maybe you could post a short discription about the sean your trying to make.. it would help to point out what you might need to do to make that, insted of like this whare every one is just takeing shots in the dark trying to get you to a unknown place.

I have 4.5 unlimited!

I want... Well... Icecream... Yeah...
No, I want an atmosphere... Yeah...
The horizen and the sky, should no longer be
black, but yellow and white! And rainbows shall appear
and this beautiful orange horizon of the morning!
You... You know?!

just put a big sphere around your sean then and map a texture of the sky to it.. you can find 180 degree pic's for just that perpuse.
if your not planning on panning around much you can get away with even a normal pic..
this is a good way to go from what understand of what you want to do..

Sorry for my vague Fluids tipuser added image hehe..

Here is a better explanation:

To help you learn Fluid Effects and quickly get you on your way to creating your own effects, Maya includes example files that include the fluids, geometry, shaders, lights, and environments to create complete effects.
You can quickly import example files into your scene, play, and render them without alteration or you can modify them to customize the effects.
Maya also includes predefined initial states (or caches) that describe the initial starting point of fluid simulations (for example, a cloud) and attribute presets that define the attribute settings for specific effects.

Select Fluid Effects > Fluid Examples on the Web regularly to download new fluid example files, initial states, and presets from the Alias|Wavefront web site.

To get started using Maya Fluid Effects, see the Fluid Effects lessons in Instant Maya Unlimiteduser added image
