This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Second attempt at a head. First one was like 2 years ago hehe. Anyways, I'll post a wire in a couple of days. My idea is to put a helmet on this guy, so I won't even bother with the ears.
Hey Concord, that is not bad at all, once you add a bit of motion blurr like you suggest it will look very nice. Im glad to see the textures I sent you worked. Be my guess at changing the textures
About the head project, Im thinking more of a medieval type of helmet . I am not too happy with the head yet, something doesnt quite fit, im thinking the mouth. Before I start adding more details I need to get the overall shape/proportions right, and its not happening , the side view is bang on as far as matching the reference pics Im using though.
Yeah, the reference picture will help others see any problems, though at the moment I would agree, the mouth needs some work - the corners of the mouth are the main problem - it looks like they come to a point when in reality the bottom lip kind of tucks under the top. Jason Osipa does a good job of describing how the lips work in his book Stop Staring - definitely worth checking out.
