fractal scratches

Does anyone know of a fractal I can add to a material as a bump to create a scratched look? I don't want anything intense; just to break up a chrome shader a little to make it look a little more realistic. I've tried all the 2d textures but they seem better suited to creating pock marks or big patches; nothing long & thin. I though marble might do it but it gives long lines all over, as you would expect really =/
Ideally, I want something that looks like the back of an old iPod - the white ones with the scroll wheel.
