Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

I can't believe this... trouble making a box.

Like title says.

I tried to make a jewelery box by double extruding a cube's inside, then added a few divisions and wanted to render a smooth preview. The corners don't look so smooth, and the render time takes ages, even though the structure is not the most complex object in the scene.
It has low reflection too.
Smoothing it doesn't work either, it still has sharp areas near the corners.

How can I make a smooth-cornered box?

The easyest way is use the bevel tool I did this with 8 segments plus you can adjust how tight you want the corners by using the offset..................dave

Thank you, but where can I find the Bevel tool? Isn't it the same as extrude?
Having less edges could also speed up rendering probably.
