need help with translucent bone

Hello..
https://louiseeaton.com/bonetexture.jpg

I have modeled the hand and animated and I'm trying to shade it similarly to the bone in this screenshot from HybridMedicalAnimation.com.

Its almost like they have the edges glowing and I cannot seem to get that effect.

Can anyone help!

Thanks

Looks like you have the speculer on. I would have that off. it dosnt' lead in the direction you want to go..

Get a velvit shader, make it blue, the velvit part wight. and tern up the translucance.. that should get you closer to what your looking for..

Looks like you want to use the "ghost shader" trick which uses the Sampler Info and Color Blend nodes.

That hand you posted looks awesome. Do you have a render of your latest progress?
