Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

exporting/importing weight maps

hello again.
I have a new problem in that i want to change the position of my bones since skinning and a little weighting. I have followed instructions to export the weight map, change bones, then import the weight map back in, howover when i import the weight map it does not have my original weights on.

When i export i am selecting the skin then export weight map.
I then detach skin, move bones, then re- bind the skin.
I then selct the skin and import the weight map. It assembles the character like it is working but it just seems to have default weights, not the same which i seemed to export.

Any ideas?
