The ear seems seperated from the head. I'd merge the front of it into the head more.

very interesting character and style. One thing that is off for me is the thinness of the lips. The top one looks sharp and without volume. I agree with the ears.

o yea, for the specular highlites thing for the eyes..try a couple of lights only linked to the eyes and that only emits specular.
