Software rendering particles with ramp

Hi all

I want to render out blobby surfaces particles with a ramp.

My question is; the dynamic ramp thing which is one color in the beginning of the particle-animation and another color in the end, only works with hardware rendered particles like points, streaks, spheres and so on.

Well - i want to use Software render. How do i get that ramp effect connected to my software rendered particles?
