Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Compositing Software

What would be a good compositing software to use with Maya for still images and a few small animations?

Thanks

For stills, I would suggest Photoshop.

For pre-processed stills, and animations, I would suggest:
Adobe After Effects or Combustion.

But it's personal preference really, and also depends on your final output medium, color-range needs, etc...

I see that there is a After Effects Pro and Standard. Will Standard be enough for stills and same small animations, or do I need Pro? I work on a PC, and with Maya of course.

Kori:

Standard will do you just fine for both, however, once you get more into compositing, and tracking etc. you'll probably kick yourself for not getting the Pro version at the outset.
BUT, I did it that way, because of cash issues, so it is up to youuser added image
