Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
As the AMD64 are becoming more and more popular, even in with multi-cpu configurations... Are MAYA able to take advantage of the new 64 bit architecture, or do we have to wait for a new 64bit edition of maya to get that 64bit boost in performance?
I made a dual Opteron system a few months ago, just to use for Maya. I installed WinXP 64 bit, but had to go back to Normal 32 bit XP as Maya just wont run in Win xp 64 bit...
I will just have to wait... Frustrating having a dual 64 bit system and I cant utilise it ......
Seems someone is running Opterons with Maya. Whether or not it takes advantage of the 64 bit processing power or is reduced to 32-bit for compatibility.
Yeah they are running the same setup as I am with my dual opteron setup. They are using Windows xp 32 bit operating system.. Thanks for posting that link though
sorry to bring up an old thread, but you seriously don't wanna be using XP 64 at this moment in time for anything other than testing it out. It's buggy as hell and not worth the CDs you burn it to.
Also, NEVER buy emachines, worst pieces of crap in the world, My sister bought one, 2.4GHz P4 machine, the thing ran like my old 750MHz Duron machine, man... Infact probably worse. never trust them.
