This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

any way to hide selected faces in component mode?

is there a way to hide a bunch of selected faces in component mode?

You can do it in object mode then stch back to component mode. It's done through isolation. See that Maya Chat, Tips & Tricks thread, it's covered it there.
