extruding problem

hey when i extrude a edge or face for example and i try and move a vertex there are 2 vertexs here is an example extrued face and when it was done i tried moveing a vertex and there not together , and i have to get all the verts i got to merge which is vbery anoying

Go to polygon menu>tool options> 'tick' keep faces together.
That should do the trick
