This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
wow. you'd think a program as professional as maya could do something so simple. i mean, you can do that in Carrara....wow. *dies* i'll never learn this program T_T
Yea I admit it was sorely missed from my Transition from Rhino to have curve and plenty of snap tools... but believe me you can make do without. Its different, not any less -- believe me there's more room to grow.
Ok, so i was able to do what i wanted by simply using the split polygon tool.
Now i have a new problem. Im making a katana as a first time practice modle. i have the shape of the blade the way i want except for the fact that i'd like to give it a slight curve. What is the best way of doing this? (i'll post a picture of where im at right now) I'd like the curve to be correctly done (not just guess at it) and im using polygons, as opposed to nurbs. please help. thanks.
You might need to change the rotation when its created and the scale of the edges but that should do it.
Oh when you've done it delete the history on the sword (making sure you'vee get everything else sorted in the modeling) otherwise when you move the sword the bend will move in relation to the bend deformer
