Problem with coustics? (i thnk)

Hey I everybody ,
I was trying to render a screwdriver handle as shown in this tutorial ::

but I cant seem to make the half-glass handle project its color with light on the plane under it.. what im I doing wrong ?

Looks fine to me. Its the hdr map that is not bright enough, and tahts the problem. You can see some caustics coming through.

I see

ooohh so its the HDR map that makes the diff ?
I thgout it has somthing to do with photons .
lets say I wanted to make that effect without the HDR ... ?

yeah, with a light that emits light photons, easy enough
