This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
I'm doing my first little project with live video + motion tracking. Now I’m having a problem with the shadows. I used the search & Google but nothing really worked.
For the proof of concept i made a cylinder on a plane. Then made the plane shade "use background". Then render. But when I open the tiff in Photoshop (or AE etc.) I get a white reflection and a shadow that is not transparent (not working.jpg).
What I am after is the wantthis.jpg
Does somebody have a few simple tips how to do this right. Or an *.ma with a cylinder and plane with the right settings so that I can figure it out for myself.
it's possible that you may need to do a 2nd pass to extract exactly what you want. If you have some points go and download my render ID layers tute from the videos section here at SM. That will show you how you can extract just the top half of the cylinder.
