Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

perspective/camera render

hi everyone,

i seem to have this problem..

when i try to batchrender a scene using my camera,
it starts making a clip of the perspective view
(which doesn't move at all) and then makes the clip
of the rendering camera. what causes this?
it takes a lot of my rendering time...

in my renderglobals i've selected the camera,
and the camera itself has been made renderable...

secondly; i cant render to quicktime, it is not in the
available image format list; eventhough i've got
quicktime pro installed (running windows though)
and i cant seem to find an appropriate plug-in

and i've read already that it probably is better to render
an image string and than convert it to a movie.

what is the best image format to do that, and what is the easiest program; seing the fact i'm facing a deadline soon.

Help would be highly appreciated, thanks already

Steef

Hi,

To try to answer you questions:

Your first issue sounds like an issue with the render global settings. Post a screen shot of this to assist whats going on.

Maya only supports rendering into an AVI file, but no one recommends doing this ever... It is quite poor quality.

You have Quicktime Pro and I use this also for creating mov files of my animations/scenes. Best bet is to render out tga or tif (file format varies from person to person) files and get Quicktime to open the Image Sequence and then export it as a mov file or what ever your choice is.

Hope this helps.

The Camera Setting states Camera_1:Camera Path. Can you ensure this just says Camera_1. Also increase your frame padding to 3 some software has issues with dealing with files that do not have leading 0's.
