Hi there! Im making my first car with Maya and following the probably known : Ford Focus modeling tutorial.
I made this ( poly converted to sub-D):
Well, the tutorial only covered the main shape of the car. Now I was wondering what the most effective way was to model the car windows.
Probably the best way was not cutting out the windows in the first place..
Well if you guys can help, please do.
i'm by no means an expert, but i would extrude the edges connect the vertices and would shape them into desirable form where need to.
Then select the faces en use the extract function/or just select the faces and assign a glass shader to it.
I hope this helped
goodluck
that's a ford focus? damn i've never seen such a stunning display of realism. () as for windows, i don't think i'd make them a part of the car geometry, but then again i don't model cars.
