Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I set refractions to 0.
"also try setting reflections to the end of the slider" -> There are no limitations for this value. The slider just looks this way, beacuse I once tried 100. You even can turn this to 1000 and more. The slider will adapt. Any other idea why this could happen?

i know it will adapt, i meant that you set it by dragging the slider until it wont move anymore unless you use a specific number...... try making a new mirror material, with the settings i said, just because it could be a problem with the material itself user added image

so, make it a blinn instead :p
