Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

making export/imprort scripts

how would i go aabout making an import export script for maya?

anyone wanna tell me how or lead me to a tutorial...?

what i want to make is a script for grand theft auto dff(models)/ifp(animation) files

To create a plugin for exporting from Maya is no small task. PM Matt the Man as he created on for indigo.

I don't think a MEL script would cut it, you may need to use the Maya API, and that means C++ to create a mll file.

Have a search for GTA Mod Sites, they may already have one done, but I think its more than likely they exist for MAX, as that is the software used by Rockstar.
