This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Gibson Les Paul "Fly Past"

Hey Guys

Heres a little "fly by" animation of the Gibosn Les Paul that I modeled a while back, its straight out of Maya, no colour correction, render layers, or any post production, just to see how it would look straight from Mental Ray.

I'm calling this one finished, the camera seems to have a bit of a jump thats not in the original, must have been the compression that I used to upload to youtube.

Any comments and crits, as always, appreciated.

Nice steve. I would slow the camera down a bit and go from full render to occlusion and then to wireframe and back to full render. Ithink would be a nice thing to add to a demo reel.

I wont coment on the Les as I already have.

Awesome model Steve!!

I rekin it wood be cool to run cam along the neck like a road/runway, then spiral around to reveal all its detail.

Les Paul would be proud

great work gster user added image definitely think that tiddles idea could work well and it might be nice to also make this video a little longer, just so we can get a good look at the full guitar.

Hi Mirek,

Its Steve, It does seem fast, one of the things that when I was setting it up I thought, hmmm 5 seconds, counted em and thought thats plenty! When I saw the final I though, heck thats fast!

Probably will slow it down when I get enought stuff together to make a demo real.
