Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Extruding curves

I have looked for the answer but have not found it yet...so, can someone tell me how to extrude a curve?
I have "traced" a wordmark SPORTS using curves (dont know if that is correct or not) and then I wanted to extrude it...end result a 3-d logo that we can put into a scene.

I have attached the logo...just the sportsmark will be used

Thanks

in case you have the font installed use the text tool from maya. this creates an extruded nurbsGeometry by just typing the text. otherwise you might want to look under surfaces/nurbs I think and test with the extrudeTool. you need a profileCurve and a path curve for that. or try the bevelOperation on your curveLetters. easiest way tho is with the textTool. I think it can be found under Modify. cant remember right. havenĀ“t used it in a while and no maya here. but the tool is in one of the basic dropDown menus.

everything starts and ends in the right place at the right time.
