Cant d/l the rendering movie tut atm due to constant errors so thought i'd ask some questions.

Have my animation, set up key frames, camera's and everything and it runs fine in maya. When i then try rendering it I have some problem.
1. Cant work out how to change the directory it will go into (personal choice..and i just cant find it!)
2. I tried rendering it in Avi as that's what i was advised and it comes up with an error when i try to open it.

any suggestions that I could try?
