Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

really? i see a few :p
here, i'll help you

3D is one of the more accessible computer arts, its much easier than programming to learn and there are many more learning resources for it, many of them free.

i changed three things. first made your first part to a sentence because it just seems better that way. Changed Its to it's because you're saying 'it is' not 'this belongs to that'
also changed the second 'much' to 'a lot' because you've confuzzled me and i can't tell if it's meant to be 'much' or 'many' :p

First of all you need the right software, the two most popular 3d software packages are maya and 3dsmax, but they also happen to be the most expensive, there not the simplest either but are arguably the best.

Made a new sentence at the start again.
changed 3d to 3D and gave caps to the software names (names are meant to have capitals at the start or something like that)
changed "there" to "they're" because you're saying 'they are' not 'there'-as in location
for the rest of the paragraph just change the 3d to 3D and give caps to blender, windows, mac and linux. also "its open source" change to "it's open source"

it appears your spelling of '3D' is sometimes 3d and sometimes 3D :p may want to make it consitent

There are 3 main sites for video tutorials, simplymaya.com, gnomolgy and digitaltutors.com.

again capital letter issues, but if that was the only thing then i would have left this alone since i've already pointed the caps thing out to you already user added image
change "3" into "three", unless it's a huge number or a date you spell the numbers rather than type them as the number. (i might be wrong but i was told sometime during high school to spell numbers)
you may want to add 3DBuzz?
also spell "gnomolgy" as "Gnomonology" or gnomonology.com
Also SimplyMaya is spelt as SimplyMaya not Simplymaya (refering to the logo at the top there), same with DigitalTutors

other than that, i can't see anything else that needs correcting
i hope i dont sound like one of those mean grammar police dicks...
also i don't bother spelling I as I here since there isn't actually any real reason... it's not a name of something...

i'm aware that noobs don't want to be overwhelmed with resources and tools, so i think this is a pretty good and lightweight guide

things to consider:
subtitles, subtitles are brilliant for grouping ideas and guiding the reader
listing every 3D package and what they specialise in :p (go to cg talk's forums to see what they are), although you may only want to mention Blender Maya Max and XSI (and if you want, throw in Milkshape and Wings3D), since the rest are all specialised towards a particular part of 3D modelling

heh, in your next guide, you can explain how your workflow flows or what the elements are for 3D models (things like what faces, verticies, edges, and UVs are)

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"

Computer skills I should have:
Objective C, C#, Java, MEL. Python, C++, XML, JavaScript, XSLT, HTML, SQL, CSS, FXScript, Clips, SOAR, ActionScript, OpenGL, DirectX
Maya, XSI, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Motion, Illustrator, Flash, Swift3D

haha, awesome dude!
nice to know what you sound like user added image

i dont know why people just don't use the paint selection tool though.... it's faster than selecting faces one by one just by clicking on them...

i'm impressed mirror geometry worked for you! it hardly ever works for me :p

you inspire me to make my own video tutorials user added image

i think an explanation of UVs itself would be good (and so it makes sense as to why we call it texture mapping)... preferably without the math unless you know it and want to scare people
