creating my own tuts

hi,

being a university graduate and unemployed was becoming very boaring, and of late i felt like i was slipping away, metaphorically speaking that is,

spent two months doing nothing, no maya work ,no nothing,

to cut to the chase it felt like i hit a plato, i had some minor successes, a few internships at some animations studios, and some game testing work for a game studio,

but nothing came from those things, didn't land a job, learnt some stuff, but didn't get what i wanted, which was a job,

felt like crap, depressed, and angry,

so i decided to pick my sorry ass of the ground, dust my self off and, and do what all men would do, thats right, start training while listening to the Rocky 4 soundtrack,

i've been traning for 3-4 months , i feel like i have some much energy now, i live my life to a strict routine , 3-4 hours of maya every day followed by an hour of exerice,

anyway to improve myself and to help others , i'm gonna start making some video tuts,

i'm half way through the first tut,

it's a head modeling tut, using the edge extrusion modeling method,

i think most of the organic modeling on this site are done using box modelling,

i.m gonna create a couple tuts, gundam modeling, next gen game character, and some other stuff,

p.s how do you get a job working for simply maya?

You send Jay some samples of your work, as well as a short demo of how you teach, etc.

You must be using a commercial version of Maya however, as Simply Maya is a for-profit company.

Also, you posted this in the wrong section. It's better to post it in the SM Movie tutorials forum.

Not all head tutorials here are box modeling. Some use them in conjunction with the edge extrusion method.

it's this quote that motivated me to try harder,

"people say, well you gotta be lucky,
luck has an element, yeah you gotta have some talent,
yes you gotta be at the right place right time,
it takes a whole hell of a lot of perseverance passion and love,
and many many many steps along the way,
and not always in a direct line,
in order to get from here to there,
you have to walk side ways some, you gotta walk obliquely,
and maybe two step backwards for one step foward, and vise versa,
it's a whole process, it's called a life,

and as long as one, regardless of his or his perception of where they want that life to ultimetly be, they cant gaive up,

for one reason or another, you know, your out of work, or life seems to be against you,

you hit all these bottoms, it can break your spirit, break your heart, and cause you alot of grieff and stuff,

you know if your really meant to get some where, regardless of what profession it is, your gonna get there, but you can not keep trying, to get there,

cause nobody hands you anything in life, we all know that,"

(Pat Mr miyagi Morita)

man, that really hit home for me, and thus filled me with a greater sence of vigor to never give up,

Hey man.... that is a great quote. I think that would hit home with most people.... especially now days.

Anyway, good luck with the tuts!

But yeah, i think the best thing you could do is start sending samples to video tutorial sites.... see what they think.

David runs the site, but Jay is the head if I remember correctly.
