3ds exporter mel

Why is it so difficult to get one of these? There's an x exporter mel, and mels for everything else imaginable, but nothing for the very popular 3ds format? Please let me know of one if you can.

What? Obj is the answer of fbx? What does that mean? I need it to be 3ds because it's animated. I don't want obj or whatever the other one is. 3ds is the only one Blitz3D can import. Autodesk took over Maya, the least they could do is have the 3ds format of their own lesser modeler. Whatever. Please someone help me export 3dss with Maya. I refuse to use that mess, Cakewalk, by the way. I just need a mel or something, I don't know. I can't find anything doing a search.

.fbx format is for

*Geometry
*Skeleton
*Animation

etc...

this is the parallel format from Maya to Max and from Max to Maya it works perfect.... don't know what is messy to you user added image

i did not google to see if there is a mel for direct .3ds exportation but i think there is no such thing.

I just get fin with those exportation with .obj for geometry and .fbx for animation ....

Good luck at your problem.

And my friend just google it ...

Hello again. I'm sending an email to the maker of the above program about some problems I'm having and thought I'd put it here too to see if anyone can help. Here it is:

"Hi, thanks for making the Blitz3D exporter for Maya! I've gotten most of it figured out I think, but I still need some help with a few last things. I made a Blitz3D program to load and animate b3ds, but when I load yours it works and when I load one I made from your mb it doesn't. It says it has no animation frames. I think I put all the mlls and mels in the right places, and setup the plugin manager right, and checkmarked all the boxes under export options. What am I missing? The file I made is even 399k like the one you made, but it just won't animate in Blitz3D. Please help."

Does no one know the answer, or is everyone just out enjoying the summer? I won't post again, I'll just try somewhere else if I don't hear back this time. Please help if you can.
