Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Game Char remake cont

Hello all,

With the conclusion of the excellent game character challenge I wanted to do some upgrading to my submission. Namely I feel like I could have done some areas better and want to take another crack at them as well as add in some detail that wouldn't go into a low poly game mesh. Also I did tell a few people that I would also texture this and I would hate to not do it after I said I would.

Besides PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! I can't wish myself to being a pro at this can I? user added image

So here's a rough shot at where I'm at.

quick update before I head to bed. Started with the remodel of the sword and shield. Will start on the main body at the feet and work my way up starting tomorrow.

Sorry for the long delay, I suffered a bit of Maya related burnout and needed to take a quick break. So after a bit of playing brink for a week I'm ready to tackle the remake of the remake user added image

Here's the old shoe vs the new shoe. I think I need to extend that middle part to make it look more armor like. its supposed to cover the joint where it moves but doesn't quite fit the bill just yet.

@tweetytunes: Man I can't wait to see what you do with eve. It already looks fantastic!

This will be what you would probably find then dave? I guess I was trying to emphasise the more human shape to a boot...rather then a robot..he he he...

Hey Guys, thanks for the advice!

I think I see what you're saying Daverave that the top part of the armor could use the crossing pattern over the boot so it better mimics a roman sandal.

Here's another update. I tried the roman sandals but didn't like how they were turning out. I finished the boots and shin guards and hopefully will get the ankles and knees done but I haven't had much time to sit down and model.
