Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Going to move this to the proper forum, because there arent any real 'progress' pictures to make it a real WIP thread.

When you merged the verts, what tolerance did you use?

Try again I think could be a lamina face, try deleting the two faces next to the dip then rebuild with append to poly..........dave

It is more likely you have a internal face in this intance. You can use the mesh>cleanup tools to find and correct the problem.

A manual way to fix this is to delete the face(s) in the affected area, look for internal faces, if you see none then rebuild the faces using append to poly, extrude edge and merge verts, and bridge tools in whatever combination you need.

Im with ct and dave silverspawn....sometimes there isnt anything wrong at all...I have had this before too...dont know why Maya does it but sometimes she gets cranky..I delete faces one by one in the area and rebuild too...works usually
