duplicate special 2012

When I duplicate specialfor an instance of an object, the object does not aline properly even tested it on standard objects and shapes but no joy.

Is maya 2012 just full of bugs or is it something I am doing wrong ???

Works fine for me. Have you reset the tool it looks like you don't have rotates set to zero.

It works. You just don't have your vertices aligned to the origin.

Looks like you haven't done a freeze transforms on the object you're trying to duplicate. Try that, or check the tool settings and make sure the rotations are all 0
