Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Hi, could some take a scene file I have to operate a boolean for me?

Its a cylinder with about 100 holes I want to cut out of it to get a mesh with holes.

Thanks

boolean into a cylinder is going to make unsmoothable geometry. Are you sure this is what you want to do? Maybe grab a screen shot of the target and some cutters so I can see what you are trying to achieve and I might be able to give you a better approach

For that you might want to just use a transparency map

I you must have geo with thickness I have a tut on the site that shows how to make a plane with all the holes (with proper geo) that you can then bend into a cylinder using the bend deformer

search for (holes in cylinders) in the forums.
