Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Drawing lines between verts

Hello all, I have a bit of a problem. When I bridged a mesh recently, maya spliced some vertices (below). Is there any way for me to draw a line or connect the verts without bridging? (Maya wont let me bridge on the same plane). Thanks.

Yes, you can use the interactive split tool to reconnect the edges.

Thanks, and I can see how it would work, but it won't. As you can see (below) it tore apart some of my mesh. And on the lines it acually works on (the orange one in the picture wont wok for some reason) it wont make faces. I am not disregarding your advice at all, don't get me wrong, I think I am just doing something wrong. Thanks again.

Well in your first image it looks like you have large filled holes without proper edges, but in the second one it looks like you actually have holes. You can select all the border edges and do mesh > fill holes, which will you give you large n-gons, then you can split them up with the split tool.

also dont forget to delete the extra verts you have, or turn them into edge loops

nevermind, you did it in the second image post.
