get rid of coordinates somewhere in space

hi,

i have a little problem in maya 2013, and couldn't figure out how to solve.
in this projekt file i have a xyz coordinate system at a fixed position in the room and i want to get rid of it. i don't know how it got there. but i don't want it there. please help :-/

edit: when i switch of "handles" it disappears, but i don't want to switch "handles" of, i want do delete the xyz-thing

I there an object there? It could be that "display local axis" is checked on in the object's display section of the transform node.

thanks, it was an empty group, and yes, "display local axis" was checked. user added image
