"Play forward" too fast (I am Superbeginner)

Hi,

today its my first day on Maya and I have done my first Animation.
I have a simple question, which is I am sure very easy for you. So sorry for this easy question:

- I have downloaded the rig "simple bot" from creativecrash.com
- I set 25 frames and have done (from a tutorial) a walking-cycle.
- when I press the "play forward"-button it plays way to quick (in maya) than in the turorial.
I have two question:

1. How can I see the Animation in Maya slowlier when I click the "play forward button?
2. How can I render the animation in a low sized film?

Thanks for help
