2 questions

hi, my internet was down last night so I wrote down the stuff I wanted to ask and here it is:

1.
What's the difference in animating nurbs, polys and subdiv?
is one easyer than the other? what is important to do while modeling to get an easyer job at animating?

2.
what exactly are fluids for? I just have no idea at all on what they can actually do.

btw: actually I had 3 questions, but I solved the 3rd one myself!user added image
isn't that great! user added image
hehe

1. no difference at all - one is not nessesary easier than the other - the only limit is your mind

2. fluids are for liquid effect - e.g. water, clouds, fire ....

well fluids are not as easy to understand as aehm ... split polygon tool. fluids is not just a simple tool, but a complex system. the amazing thing about fluids is not the many properties, but that it is a physically correct model.

when you read a bit in the manual and did not understand it at all, feel free to ask. i believe though that it has more than enough information to get you started. and it shows you step by step how to setup certain things in fluids. i am not sure that anybody here at simplymaya has enough knowledge about fluids once you reached the level that the manual is not deep enough on its information.

ok ok already, but I'm still learning about modeling, then texturing, animating, probably particles next or MEL.

So I'll have to check that out later.
