Stitch problem! Pulling out my hair!

Ok... I've done tutorials on stitching and yet after 20 hours I still can't get this simple thing to work. I've tried every single combination of align/attach/detach/rebuild/delete history than I can think of. Seriously... 20 hours of failures...

I just want a seamless and smooth mesh... is that so wrong?

I've included an image and the files are located here:

Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Aaron

POLYGONS!! user added image

If you insist on Nurbs, though, it looks like your vase object needs more geometry in order to maintain the shape around the stitch.

We have a stitch video here going over how to attach an arm to a body, and the process would be identical.

The final product is supposed to be

1) photorealistic
2) more or less identical to the original

are polygons still the better option?

In any case, thanks for the help. I'll try it again with more isoparms soon user added image

I use polys for pretty much everything now-a-days, realistic or not.

instead of stitching that object try using a surface, circular or freeform fillet between the edge isoparm of the handle and the surface of the jar.
