Mental Ray Hair rendering

Hello, everyone, recently, I met a problem is about Mental ray hair rendering. No matter how hard I tried, I can't solve this problem, really hope you can give me some ideas or suggestion.

I used "Shave & a hair" plug-in to create hair style and then convert guides to curves. Finally, assigning to MAYA hair system by selecting those curves. (MAYA2014)

In the beginning, it looks not bad, but after first time, all images rendered out are becoming many knots.

I guess it may be caused by "SubSegment" in my hair system. But I am wrong, even setting 0, it doesn't become better. (Is it because of curve?)

Is anyone can share with me how to deal with this issue?

Have you tried increasing your sub segments to 3................dave
