Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

texture upside down when I render

I have a tv screen and I have mapped a image on to it. Now in hardware texturing mode the image is placed perfect but on rendering it is upside down. How do I fix it? It's on a nurbs plane.
I have tried all combinations in the texture placment box.
I mean if it shows placed correctly when I press 6 on the keyboard why is it upside down when rendered????? :-(

In the hypershade editor, click on the input button where you linked the file. (ie. at the end of the color slider, if you maped to the color channel) towards the bottom of this window you will see 'UV Coordinates', maximize it and open its input channel. 3 lines down, you will see 'Rotate Frame', set that to 180.

iron I had done all that my friend. It would still show correct when I hit 6 on the keyboard. On rendering it was upside down. The interesting thing is that I even rotated the original TGA file in photoshop and reloaded in Maya but it would still not turn 180 degrees like I wanted :-O
Anyway I just deleted and made a new one.
It was simpler that way.

That's what happens when you put too much hair gel :-)
Don't go around blaming Maya for that :-)
