Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Please give me your honest opinion

I have joined the maya community some months ago am im really happy to be part of this great community i have learned what i know in maya thanks to this site and michael mckinley's site, i have made some models most of which i feel kinda proud, but compared to some works that i have seen on this website they preety much suck, i just wanted to show you these models i have done and i would really like to hear your thoughts and opininions especially from kevin and mr mckinley himself user added image


I want to thank all the guys at simply maya and all those great users who make such outstanding works which are great source of inspiration

the long face on the 1st one makes for a nice afect on background. Nice work for starting.
The second one. Good concept.. Love the wings.. very intresting afect. I like the grass also.. was that composited with Photoshop or done with paintFX. just gessing there.. the female. looks good but her perportions are to long if you ask me. the arms and belly. You could use lattesis to shorten them with out having to tweak a lot.

Well about the grass it was made with paint effects and the models face is made from polys using extrude ege splt poly etc, the body was made with subdivs converted to polygons yep i noticed the proportions are not good the only thing i done good was the breast but decided to cover them i dont get used to subdivs very little work was done on photoshop except for some contrast and color adjustments


i made another model its my first attempt at making a human esque thing no texture except for a primitive skin shader i dont know how to do bump maps!!!

wondering, are you modeling from blueprints like in imagepains ??
