3d paint tool

Has anyone else found the 3d paint tool to be so rediculously slow on anything above 256x256 that it's totally unusable? I have dual AMD processors at 2.4 Ghz each, a Quadro 1000, and 1 gig of ram, and it takes several seconds for the color to follow the brush from one point to another.

Yep, slow as hell, prefer not to use em :p. But depends on how much you use it, ofcourse.... One day I had to make a space sence, and I randomly painted *a lot* of galaxy strokes on the thing.... couldn't even turn. Leter that day I found out that I oculd just do with one stroke, when I made it twice as big :p ..user added image, You could also just convert to poly?
