converting maya to 3ds?

Hi. I'm new to the forum.

Is there a way to convert maya files to 3ds format?

If anyone knows, please reply.

NOt directly Yet. why do you need 3ds format? if you want to load it into Max later then export as obj. then inport as obj in max.

But this is only for models not the whole scene. certain Data will be lostuser added image

Are you sure that there aren't any converters outside of the community? :s

I have been looking and I cant find one yet. Except Polytrans which cost $$$$
