landscape/portrait layout - rendering

hey everyone,
silly question for you all...
is there a way to change the rendering settings to print portrait (like word layout portrait) as opposed to landscape? i tried to change render settings to 480x640 instead of 640x480 but it just distorts it. any clues?

i have the device aspect ratio set to 1.0 and it distorts the frame....default is 1.333. is this what you mean or is pixel aspect ratio different?

Device Aspect Ratio is the ratio between width and height of the overall image. So, a 640x480 image has a ratio of 1.333. A ratio of 1 gives you a square image. Normally, you don't need to change that value. Pixel Aspect Ratio is the relative dimension of the individual pixels that make up the image. Any value other than 1 will give you a distorted image.
