I've made a lot changes in this update. I've opted to go with non-human stlye feet (I made both). I'm working on a few blend shapes, and more accessories right now.

I've been working on some basic texture painting from within maya, here are the results.

looking good. maybe raise the value on the cam environment just a hair for the FG. It also looks like your going for some fat in the abdomen. The skin there possibly wouldn't be that smooth. You could use a cloud filter in photoshop, blur it and add that to your bump to brake up the smoothness a little.

Looking really cool, it would be very neat to see it lumbering around..

Here are two more pic's with the env. brightened a little bit (which went a long way). I would like to do the whole photoshop texture thing, however I'm a novice at true UV texturing in Maya (or any other program for that matter). I've unwrap a few heads with alot of success, however doing an entire character just takes too much time for me right now.

The second render is a low poly one

looks good so far dude.
maybe increase the bump a bit to give the skin more depth, it kinda looks flat right now.
the specular highlights (i u r using any) are on point
