how to texture

can any one tell me how to texture a ...... anything... for example a car??? i made this one right now... pretty simple but can anyone waste sometime to tell me how texture,, thanx alot

well for a quick way, right click and select "faces" from your poly car... then open hypershade up and add a material, but also add a texture file to your material by clicking on the right hand side of the colour picker.

For an example of this look at the "terrain" example in the texture forum

then apply the material to your car.

If you just want to see some colors on your model, just use the hypershade and your JPEG texture files. For advance texturing, you need photshop, paint shop pro and wide array of texture maps. You also need to learn how to use Plannar mapping under Edit Polygons, and the Texture view. It is a very long process, so I recommend to look for a book that explain these sytems well.


2d and 3d are brothers, both need to be mastered.
